United reviewing passenger's account of misconduct on Newark-bound flight
A woman says a man seated beside her masturbated during a morning United flight from Rochester to Newark. The airline says it is looking into the report and has not commented further.
United Airlines says it is looking into a passenger's account of a flight from Rochester to Newark, after a 25-year-old woman reported that a man in the seat next to her appeared to masturbate during the trip. The airline said it was reviewing the report and had no further details to give.
The account says the flight was on 3 September and left around 6am. The woman said cabin crew let her stand in the aisle for about an hour, then asked her to sit back down next to the man because no other seat was free. She said the man was able to leave the aircraft after landing.
According to the report, she later complained to United, the US Federal Aviation Administration and the FBI. United first gave her a $100 flight credit. The airline said it was investigating only after the matter became public.
