United to fit Starlink Wi-Fi across 1,000 mainline jets by 2027
United Airlines plans to have more than 1,000 mainline aircraft equipped with Starlink satellite internet by May 2027, an installation rate of over 20 jets a week.

United Airlines is speeding up its Starlink satellite internet rollout, with a target of more than 1,000 mainline aircraft fitted by May 2027. Hitting that figure would mean installing the service on more than 20 aircraft every week, work spread across 17 maintenance stations.
The airline is treating onboard connectivity as a competitive tool as it goes after rivals such as Delta Air Lines, whose Amazon satellite internet rollout is not due to start until 2028.
United's stated aim is to make fast, free Wi-Fi a more consistent part of the passenger experience across its mainline fleet.
