Vietjet starts Hanoi–Almaty–Prague flights, its first EU service
Vietjet has begun twice-weekly Airbus A330 services linking Hanoi with Almaty and Prague, the Vietnamese carrier's first entry into the European Union.

Vietjet began flying between Hanoi and Almaty, Hanoi and Prague, and Almaty and Prague, the airline announced on October 11, 2026. It is the carrier's first entry into the European Union.
The routes connect Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi with Almaty International Airport in Kazakhstan and Václav Havel Airport Prague in the Czech Republic. The first flights arrived to water cannon salutes at ceremonies at the Almaty and Prague airports on October 10, 2026.
Flights run twice a week, with round trips on Tuesdays and Saturdays, aboard Airbus A330 widebody aircraft. Besides economy seating, passengers can book Business or SkyBoss, the airline's premium cabin.
Vietjet said the Almaty route may also draw Vietnamese leisure travellers, since Vietnamese citizens can enter Kazakhstan visa-free for stays of up to 30 days.
CEO Nguyen Thanh Son called the launch an important milestone in the airline's international growth. He said Vietjet intends to add more European services, which would make travel between Europe, Asia and Australia more convenient and support trade and investment.
At the Prague ceremony, Vietnam's ambassador to the Czech Republic, Duong Hoai Nam, said air links act as a bridge between the two countries and the new service would help deepen their strategic partnership at government level and between their peoples. He thanked Vietjet for its investment in the Czech market and for improving connections between Vietnam and Europe.
