Why Copa Airlines Did Not Adopt United's Evo-Blue Livery
Copa Airlines did not take on the livery design United Airlines introduced in 2019, known unofficially as Evo-Blue. The subject is a matter of airline branding rather than operations.
United Airlines' current livery dates to 2019 and is officially called Sky Blue, though it is sometimes referred to informally as Evo-Blue. The design replaced an earlier scheme that had been in use since 2010.
That 2010 look was essentially Continental Airlines' livery carrying United's name, a product of the two carriers' merger. It kept a large globe on the tail as the primary logo, a mark inherited from Continental, along with a grey underbelly. The globe had been a familiar sight on United aircraft for more than 15 years.
The 2019 update dropped the gold accents of the previous design and added more blue. It also introduced billboard titles and a wavy underbelly.
Copa Airlines, a longstanding partner of United, did not adopt the Evo-Blue scheme for its own fleet.
