US charity to operate its own Tecnam P2012 under ten-year lease
Props for a Purpose is acquiring a Tecnam P2012 Traveller on a ten-year lease from AeroSpring Leasing, its first aircraft of its own, to support medical, disaster relief and humanitarian missions.
The US aid organisation Props for a Purpose is taking on its first aircraft of its own, a Tecnam P2012 Traveller, under a ten-year leasing agreement with AeroSpring Leasing. The twin-engine aircraft has been named Servant One.
The P2012 is to be used in the United States for medical transport, disaster relief and humanitarian missions. Its cabin can be reconfigured between passenger transport, cargo and medical evacuation work.
Until now the organisation has arranged around 300 missions a year, drawing on a network of more than 500 volunteer pilots and aviation professionals. With an aircraft of its own, it aims to depend less on the availability of voluntarily provided machines.
The P2012 can carry patients and medical teams as well as aid workers, relief supplies and equipment.
