Wizz Air will keep its Belgrade base open through the winter 2026/27 season. The airline said Serbian authorities have announced they will postpone contested air transport measures. It did not say which measures are affected or how long the delay will last.
Wizz Air had opposed the planned changes and launched a petition that it says drew more than 25,000 signatures. The carrier employs more than 200 people at its Belgrade base, and says it has carried more than 14 million passengers to and from Serbia since 2010.
The airline said it hopes for a permanent settlement.
