Air carrier First Officer reported a hard landing during gusty wind conditions.

Narrative

I was flying the leg to ZZZ from ZZZ1. Flight was normal. We knew ZZZ would be windy; but it was reported 20-30 degrees off runway heading at 22 gusting 30kts. I had a fairly normal approach with some speed variation due to gusts; but the approach was stable. Upon flare and touchdown I believe I lost a gust leading to a hard landing according to Maintenance. Captain and both FAs (flight attendants) said the landing was pretty firm but not anything they thought was incredibly hard; but we talked to Maintenance and they advised it was a hard landing. Captain and I debriefed it at the gate and discussed what next steps were when it came to reporting.I believe the hard landing was caused by a gust loss during the flare to touchdown and relative inexperience with gusty conditions in the aircraft.Suggestions: During high gust landings; the flare and touchdown should be briefed in a way that ensures both pilots are aware of what will happen if a gust is lost.
