Incident Details
According to the pilot, the landing began with a normal initial touchdown on the main landing gear. However, when the nose gear contacted the runway, there was a brief hesitation. Subsequently, the nose settled and the propellers struck the runway. The pilot applied back pressure on the elevator control to hold the nose up, but this action resulted in the retraction of the main landing gear as well.
Aircraft Examination
An examination of the aircraft after the incident revealed that all landing gear had retracted to the up and locked position. The flaps were still extended at the time of the examination. No pre-accident malfunction or failure was found in the landing gear extension and retraction system.
Pilot Report
The pilot stated that the initial main gear touchdown was normal. The nose gear contact was marked by a brief hesitation before the nose settled, leading to the propeller strike. The pilot's attempt to raise the nose by applying back pressure on the elevator inadvertently caused the main gear to retract.
