Event Overview
The pilot of the aircraft reported a partial loss of engine power while the aircraft was climbing. As a result, the pilot made the decision to return to the airport from which he had departed.
Pilot Actions
According to the pilot, the engine's power output varied when the electric fuel pump was activated; however, he chose to keep the electric fuel pump switched off. During the final approach phase, the pilot had not declared an emergency situation. He needed to alter his course to avoid colliding with another aircraft that was also on the final approach. After realigning the aircraft, the pilot indicated that his altitude was insufficient to reach the runway.
Investigation Findings
The post-accident investigation included a functional test of the engine, which operated normally without any anomalies.
