Incident Details
According to the pilot, unforecast weather was encountered while cruising at 6,500 feet. The student became lost and elected to make a precautionary landing in an unimproved field. During the landing, the nose gear collapsed, and the aircraft nosed over, coming to rest inverted. The pilot made no effort to seek assistance from air traffic control when he became lost.

At the nearest weather observation facility, located 18 miles northeast of the accident site, conditions were visual meteorological conditions (VMC) with scattered clouds at 25,000 feet and visibility of 20 miles.
