Approach and Fuel Tank Switch
During the landing approach, the pilot reported switching from the left fuel tank to the right fuel tank. Shortly after this action, the engine failed. The pilot was unable to restart the engine and subsequently performed a forced landing.
Post-Incident Examination
An examination of the left fuel tank revealed it to be empty. The right fuel tank was found to contain a quantity of fuel. No fuel was detected in the engine fuel spider or the spider supply lines. There was no evidence of fuel contamination.

The pilot stated that the fuel tanks were not full prior to takeoff and that during the flight, the aircraft had been operating on the left fuel tank.
