Accident Overview
A student pilot and an instructor were practicing emergency landings when the student descended the aircraft to about 250 feet above ground level (AGL). At that point, the student surrendered control of the aircraft to the instructor.
Student Pilot's Account
According to the student pilot, the instructor immediately applied full power and banked the aircraft to the left. Shortly thereafter, the aircraft collided with the ground.
Instructor's Account
The instructor stated that he had no memory of the accident or the events leading up to the collision with terrain.
