Accident Summary
Approximately 45 minutes into the flight, the pilot observed a decrease in engine oil pressure and elected to return to the departure airport. Shortly thereafter, the cabin became filled with smoke, and the engine continued to lose power. Faced with a deteriorating situation, the pilot was compelled to ditch the aircraft.
