Accident Overview
The accident involved a student pilot on her second solo flight. On the initial landing attempt, the aircraft bounced on its main gear, veered left, and exited the runway surface. The pilot then initiated a go-around by applying full power and retracting the flaps.
Events During the Go-Around
According to witness statements, the aircraft climbed to an estimated altitude of 20 feet above ground. The pilot reported sensing an airframe buffet, after which the airplane rolled to the left, pitched nose-down, and collided with terrain.
Post-Accident Findings
Examination of the wreckage revealed no evidence of any preimpact part failure or malfunction. The investigation did not identify any mechanical defects that would have affected the flight.
