Accident Overview
A pilot was conducting touch-and-go landings on runway 09, an asphalt runway measuring 6200 feet by 75 feet. The wind was reported as light and variable. During the fourth touch-and-go, the pilot experienced a directional control issue that led to the aircraft leaving the runway surface and colliding with a snowbank, resulting in the aircraft nosing over.
Pilot's Report
The pilot stated that the fourth landing was executed at a slightly higher speed than intended and the aircraft was not perfectly aligned with the runway centerline. Upon applying power for the subsequent takeoff, the aircraft began to turn to the left. The pilot acknowledged that he did not apply sufficient rudder input to counteract the turning tendency.
Sequence of Events
As the aircraft turned left, it swerved towards the left side of the runway. The aircraft subsequently departed the prepared surface and struck a snowbank adjacent to the runway. The impact caused the aircraft to nosed over. The report does not specify the extent of damage or any injuries.
