What happened
The certified flight instructor (CFI) reported that the aircraft engine began to vibrate significantly while in flight. During this event, the engine started losing power despite attempts to correct the situation. The CFI took control of the aircraft and elected to perform a precautionary landing in a nearby field.
After touchdown, the aircraft nosed over. Following the incident, the engine was restarted and found to operate normally. No determination could be made as to the reason for the loss of power or vibration.
