Mid-Flight Engine Failure Leads to Emergency Landing and Wing Separation (N25BK)

Incident Overview and Pilot Statement During a trip between Omaha, Nebraska, and St. Louis, Missouri, the pilot stated that he added 12 gallons of fuel to the airplane's fuel tanks before departure. Approximately two and a half hours into the flight, the engine stopped running. The pilot stated that he landed the airplane on a road. During the landing rollout, the right wing collided with a utility pole, causing the right wing to separate from the airplane at the wing strut attach point. The airplane's final resting place was a field adjacent to the road. ## On-Scene Investigation Findings The on-scene investigation revealed that the fuel tanks were empty. The pilot stated that he did not check the fuel tanks or fuel gauges prior to departing Omaha, Nebraska.
