Incident Details
The pilot was conducting a flight from Lake City, Florida to Gainesville, Florida. During the flight, the pilot contacted the Gainesville FAA Flight Service and reported being low on fuel. While on approach to Gainesville, the engine lost power and quit. The pilot executed a forced landing, which resulted in the aircraft coming to rest in trees.
Examination Findings
Following the accident, an FAA inspector examined the aircraft. The inspection revealed that there was no usable fuel remaining in the aircraft. Additionally, there was no evidence of fuel leakage from the aircraft before or after the accident.

The operator provided information regarding the aircraft's fuel system. The aircraft has a usable fuel capacity of 37 gallons and consumes fuel at a rate of 6 gallons per hour. The flight time since the last refueling was over six hours.
