Incident Description
A student pilot on his first solo flight performed a touch-and-go landing. During the second landing of the sequence, the airplane veered left after touchdown. The pilot attempted to correct the veer by applying right aileron and right rudder, followed by braking. Despite these inputs, the airplane continued to veer left, departed the runway, and struck a snowbank.
Pilot Experience
The pilot had accumulated a total of 17 flight hours, all of which were logged in a Cessna 152. This flight represented his first solo experience.
Conditions
The wind was reported as calm at the time of the incident. The runway was 150 feet wide.
