Incident Overview
A student pilot was taxiing for takeoff when he observed a large twin-engine turboprop airplane positioned on a runup pad adjacent to the taxiway he was using. The student pilot reported that he stopped his aircraft before passing behind the turboprop and noted that its propellers were turning slowly.
Sequence of Events
After stopping, the student pilot proceeded to taxi behind the turboprop airplane. During this maneuver, he heard an increase in engine power from the other aircraft. He stated that he attempted to navigate through the area where his airplane was experiencing the turboprop's propwash but was unable to do so. As he turned onto the taxiway leading to the active runway, his airplane was blown over by the propwash.
Pilot Actions
The student pilot did not make contact with the pilot of the turboprop airplane before taxiing behind it. No further communication between the two pilots was reported.
