Accident Details
A witness at the airport reported that the airplane landed hard on Runway 16. After touchdown, the pilot lost control as the airplane porpoised three times. During the second bounce, the nose landing gear collapsed. Following the collapse, the propeller struck the runway, and the airplane nosed over, coming to rest in an inverted position.
Aircraft Examination
An FAA inspector examined the airplane at the accident site. The examination confirmed evidence of propeller slashes on the pavement, consistent with the propeller striking the runway.
Pilot Background
The operator reported that the student pilot was in the United States on a student visa to learn to fly. At the time of the accident, the pilot had accumulated a total of 18 hours of flight experience.
