Accident Details
The pilot was executing a landing on runway 29, having entered a right-hand traffic pattern. According to the pilot, after touchdown the aircraft was slightly to the right of the runway centerline. The pilot then attempted to move left to align with the centerline.
Pilot Report
The pilot reported that as the aircraft crossed the centerline, he applied right rudder, but the airplane did not respond and continued moving left. He then applied both brakes, with more pressure on the right brake, but was unable to regain control. The aircraft continued left, departed the runway surface, and the nose landing gear subsequently collapsed.
Investigation Findings
Weather at the time of the accident was recorded as wind from 240 degrees at 14 knots. A post-accident inspection of the aircraft revealed no mechanical anomalies that could have contributed to the loss of control.
