Incident Description
During solo landing practice, a student pilot experienced an abnormal landing sequence. According to the pilot's statement, after flaring the airplane, it floated, prompting the pilot to relax the yoke in an attempt to level the aircraft with the runway. The airplane then contacted the ground hard and rebounded into the air. This event caught the pilot by surprise. Subsequently, the airplane bounced two to three more times before settling back onto the runway. As the airplane rolled along the runway, the pilot heard rattling sounds.
Pilot's Account
The student pilot provided the following account: "When I flared the airplane floated and I relaxed the yoke to level it back with the runway then suddenly plane hit the ground hard and bounced back in the air. That totally got me by surprise. After that plane bounced 2-3 more times and settled back on the runway. After that I heard rattling sounds as plane rolled on the runway."
Post-Incident Observations
No further details regarding the aircraft condition, pilot status, or any damage were provided in the initial report. The rattling sounds heard during the rollout suggest possible mechanical stress or damage, but this has not been confirmed.
