Synopsis
A 54-hour private pilot landed at an airport under dark night conditions at approximately 2100. During taxi to the Fixed Base Operator parking area, the pilot could not locate taxiway centerline markings or an aircraft marshaller. While maneuvering near the parking area, the right wing of the airplane struck an unmarked black light pole.
Narrative
The pilot reported that after landing, he began looking for taxiway centerline markings but found none. He then attempted to find an aircraft marshaller while taxiing toward the Fixed Base Operator parking area. No marshaller was present, and the pilot decided to proceed to a parking spot. During a left turn near the parking area, the pilot felt the right wing impact a solid object. Examination revealed that the right wing had struck an unmarked black light pole adjacent to the parking area.
Damage
The airplane's right wing was damaged due to the collision with the light pole. No other damage or injuries were reported in the source.
