Incident Description
The airplane veered off the runway and nosed over during a landing attempt. According to the pilot, the approach was normal despite crosswind conditions. Just prior to touchdown, a strong gust of wind pushed the airplane to the left side of the runway. The pilot attempted to execute a go-around by adding full power, but the airplane was unable to become airborne due to the strong wind conditions. The airplane then touched down off the runway surface, nosed over, and came to rest inverted.

The pilot stated that before departure, a full weather briefing was obtained, but no information was available regarding surface winds at the destination airport. The pilot estimated the winds were from the north at 25 knots, gusting to 40 knots. No preimpact mechanical malfunctions or failures with the airplane were reported.
