What happened
On February 18, 2008, at approximately 1815 local time, a Cessna 650, registration N385EM, crashed into a savanna near Caico Seco, Anzoategui, Venezuela. The aircraft was operating under instrument flight rules on a flight plan from Arturo Michelena International Airport (SWA) in Valencia to Manual Carlos Piar International Airport (PZO) in Puerto Ordaz.
At the time of the accident, the aircraft was in cruise flight at flight level 300. Preliminary data indicates the airplane dove into the ground. The impact resulted in 3 fatal injuries to the two pilots and one passenger on board. The weather at the time of the accident was characterized by visual meteorological conditions.
