What happened
On May 3, 2008, a Cessna 172, registration N7886G, was taxiing after landing at an airport in Anchorage, AK. During the taxi, the pilot inadvertently turned onto a roadway. While attempting to perform a 180-degree turn to reverse the aircraft's direction, the right wing of the airplane struck a stop sign.
There were no injuries resulting from the incident. The impact caused structural damage to the right wing end rib of the aircraft.
