What happened
On July 9, 2008, at 1219 UTC, a Piper PA-28-235, registered as SE-KUY, was performing an approach to Parnu Airport (EEPU) in Parnu, Estonia. The flight had originated from Liepaja, Latvia.
While the aircraft was at an altitude of 150 feet, it executed a steep right turn and climbed into trees. The impact caused substantial damage to the aircraft. The pilot sustained 1 fatal injury.
At the time of the accident, weather conditions were characterized by visual meteorological conditions (VMC) with a visibility of 6 statute miles and winds from 250 degrees at 06 knots.
