What happened
On August 20, 2008, a Piper PA46-500TP, registration N618MA, was attempting to land at its destination airport in St. Louis, Missouri. During the landing sequence, the pilot did not lower the landing gear. The aircraft touched down on the runway centerline in a gear-up configuration, subsequently veered off the right side of the runway, and came to a stop in the grass.
There were no injuries resulting from the accident. The pilot was able to exit the aircraft without assistance. The aircraft sustained damage to the fuselage, the belly, and the leading edge of the left wing.
