What happened
On September 1, 2008, at approximately 1510 UTC, a Beech 1900C, registration ZS-OLD, was performing an approach to Bukavu, Democratic Republic of Congo. The aircraft, operated by Air Serv International, had departed from Kisangani, DRC. During the approach, the aircraft collided with high terrain. The impact resulted in a fire and the total destruction of the airplane. There were 17 fatal injuries, involving the pilot, the copilot, and 15 passengers.
