What happened
On September 16, 2008, a Stinson 108-1, registration N8963K, was performing a landing at its destination in Kalispell, Montana. The aircraft, which features conventional landing gear, touched down normally. Approximately 300 feet into the landing roll, the aircraft veered to the left. This maneuver caused the right main gear to collapse under the fuselage and resulted in a bent right wing tip. There were no injuries resulting from the event.
The investigation
The pilot reported that there were no mechanical anomalies present on the aircraft prior to the incident.
