What happened
On October 7, 2008, at 12:42 local time, a Qantas Airways Airbus A330-300, operating as VH-QPA, was performing a scheduled passenger flight from Singapore to Perth, Australia. While cruising near the Learmonth Aerodrome, the aircraft underwent an abrupt pitch down maneuver.
Following the event, the flight crew diverted the aircraft to Learmonth, Australia. The incident resulted in 22 serious injuries among the 2 crew and 20 passengers on board, with 0 fatalities.
