On November 16, 2008, at 1720 UTC, a Cirrus SR-22, registration N224AG, departed controlled flight and impacted the English Channel. The aircraft was performing a personal cross-country flight from Biggin Hill, United Kingdom, to Jersey, Channel Island, United Kingdom.
At the time of the accident, the weather was characterized by visual meteorological conditions (VMC) with a visibility of 25 statute miles and winds from 310 degrees at 08 knots. The pilot, who was the sole occupant of the aircraft, was killed in the accident. The aircraft is presumed destroyed.
