What happened
On June 29, 2009, at approximately 2251 UTC, an Airbus A310-300, registration 7O-ADJ, crashed into the waters of the Indian Ocean while performing an approach to land at Moroni, Comoros. The aircraft was operating as Yemenia flight 626, having departed from Sana'a, Yemen. At the time of the accident, the weather conditions were reported as windy. The impact resulted in the destruction of the aircraft and 152 fatalities, with only 1 survivor among the 153 people on board.
