What happened
On October 21, 2009, a Boeing 707, operating as Sudan Airways flight, crashed during the initial climb phase after departing from runway 30 at Sharjah International Airport (SHJ) in Sharjah, UAE. The aircraft, registration ST-AKW, was performing a cargo flight with an intended destination of Khartoum, Sudan.
The accident resulted in 6 fatal injuries to the crewmembers on board. The aircraft was destroyed in the crash.
