Incident Overview
On March 9, 2010, a Star Peru British Aerospace BAe 146-300, registration OB-1914-P, was conducting a takeoff from Runway 33 at Jorge Chavez International Airport in Lima, Peru. The aircraft, powered by four Honeywell ALF502R engines, experienced an uncontained failure of the No. 1 engine during the takeoff roll.
Response and Outcome
The flight crew responded by aborting the takeoff. The incident resulted in minor damage to the aircraft. No injuries were reported among passengers or crew.
