Event Description
During the landing rollout, the airplane encountered a wind gust and subsequently departed the left side of the runway. The runway excursion led to the nose gear strut collapsing when it impacted a runway light.
Damage
The collision resulted in substantial damage to the engine firewall, elevator, and right wing of the airplane.
Pilot Report
The pilot reported that there were no pre-impact mechanical malfunctions or failures that would have precluded normal operation of the airplane.
Weather
According to a local weather station, the prevailing wind at the time was from the south at 8 knots, with no gusts reported.
