Accident Overview
A pilot was conducting touch-and-go landing practice when a hard landing occurred during the first touch-and-go. The airplane bounced, and as the pilot attempted to correct the bounce, the nose landing gear struck the runway before the main landing gear. Postflight Inspection
Following the flight, an inspection of the airframe revealed substantial damage to the engine firewall and fuselage floor structure. No preimpact mechanical malfunctions or failures were reported that would have precluded normal operation of the airplane.
