Accident Details
On September 4, 2010, approximately 1600 UTC, a Mooney M20J single-engine airplane, registration G-JAST, and a Vans RV-4 single-engine airplane, registration G-MARX, collided in midair while maneuvering near Ryde, Isle of Wight, United Kingdom. The two local flights had departed from Bembridge, United Kingdom, at an unknown time.
Aircraft Damage and Occupant Injuries
G-JAST was destroyed in the collision, and G-MARX sustained substantial damage. The two occupants of G-JAST suffered fatal injuries, while the two occupants of G-MARX sustained serious injuries.
