What happened
On January 9, 2011, an Boeing 727-200, operating as EP-IRP, was performing a flight from Mehrabad International Airport (OIII) in Tehran, Iran, to Orumiyeh Airport (OITR) in Urmia, Iran. During the flight's approach, the aircraft crashed while executing a missed approach.
Of the 105 passengers and crew on board, there were 78 fatalities and 27 serious injuries.
