Accident Overview
On February 26, 2011, at 1415 coordinated universal time, a Cessna P210N, registered F-GMGF, was destroyed when it impacted terrain under unknown circumstances near Armetieres sur Avre, France. The aircraft was on a flight from Rouen Vallee de Sein (LFOP) to Montpellier (LFMT).
Circumstances
According to French investigators, reports indicated that the airplane descended at a rapid rate from flight level 170. The wreckage was located in wooded terrain and was scattered over several kilometers. Instrument meteorological conditions (IMC) prevailed at the time of the accident.
Occupants and Injuries
The pilot and one passenger were fatally injured.
