Accident Overview
On March 30, 2010, about 0902 universal coordinated time (UTC) (2002 local time), a Piper PA-32R-301T aircraft, registered as VH-LKI, collided with terrain while on approach to Moree Aerodrome in Moree, New South Wales, Australia. The aircraft was operated by a private operator under the provisions of the Australian civil aviation regulations.
Flight Details
The flight originated from Brewarrina, New South Wales, and was en route to Moree. The accident occurred at coordinates 29 degrees 30 minutes south latitude and 149 degrees 51 minutes east longitude.
Occupant Injuries
The pilot and three passengers sustained fatal injuries. Two passengers sustained serious injuries.
Aircraft Damage
The aircraft sustained substantial damage in the accident.
