On June 11, 2011, an accident occurred in Mumbai, India, involving a McDonnell Douglas MD11F operated by Lufthansa Cargo Airlines. The aircraft, registered as D-ALCS, was involved in the event, which was reported by the German Federal Bureau of Aircraft Accident Investigation (BFU).
Under the provisions of ICAO Annex 13, the NTSB appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative to assist the BFU investigation in its capacity as the State of Manufacturer and Design of the aircraft. There were no injuries reported in relation to this event.
