What happened

On September 10, 2011, at approximately 18:42 local time, a Boeing 737-800, registration B-5088, operated by Shanghai Airlines, experienced a runway excursion at Phuket International Airport (HKT) in Phuket, Thailand. The aircraft ran off the side of runway 27. Following the excursion, the aircraft was able to turn back onto the runway.

The aircraft sustained minor damage, and there were no injuries reported.
