What happened
On September 18, 2011, at approximately 2330 UTC, a Piper PA-3ability-220T, registered as PT-GCC, crashed near Jatai Municipality, Goias, Brazil. The flight originated from Jatai Airport (SJTI), though the exact time of departure is unknown.
Witnesses reported that the aircraft performed several low passes over a lagoon located near the departure airport. During these maneuvers, the aircraft departed controlled flight and struck the terrain. The pilot sustained 1 fatal injury.
