Accident Notification
The Afghanistan Civil Aviation Authority (ACAA) has notified the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) of an accident involving an MD-80 aircraft that occurred on January 24, 2012.
Delegation of Investigation
The ACAA delegated the investigation to the Spanish Comisión de Investigación de Accidentes e Incidentes de Aviación Civil (CIAIAC). Under the provisions of ICAO Annex 13, the NTSB has appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative to assist the CIAIAC investigation, as the State of Manufacturer and Design of the airplane.
Information Release
All investigative information will be released by the CIAIAC.
