What happened

On April 20, 2012, at 1735 UTC, a Beech C90A, registered as PP-WCA, crashed shortly after departing runway 36 from Comandante Rolim Adolfo Amaro State Airport (SBJD) in Jundiaí, Brazil. The flight was operating under visual meteorological conditions (VMC) for a local mission.

Following takeoff, the pilot declared an emergency and indicated an intention to land on runway 18. Shortly after this declaration, the pilot canceled the emergency, stating the issue had been resolved, and requested to join the base leg for runway 36. While entering the base leg of the traffic pattern, the aircraft rolled and struck the ground approximately 180 meters from the threshold of runway 36. The impact was followed by a post-crash fire that caused severe damage to the aircraft. The pilot sustained 1 fatal injury.
