Accident Sequence
The pilot was conducting the third or fourth landing of the day. During the landing roll, a wind gust impacted the right side of the airplane, causing it to veer to the right. Despite the pilot's control inputs, the airplane continued turning to the right. The left main landing gear subsequently collapsed, and the airplane came to rest along the edge of the runway.
Damage
As a result of the accident sequence, the airplane's left wing sustained substantial damage. The extent of damage to other components was not specified in the report.
Pilot Report
The pilot reported that there were no mechanical failures or malfunctions that would have precluded normal operations. The pilot also noted that the wind gust occurred during the landing roll and that the airplane's reaction exceeded the available control authority.
