The pilot, who did not hold a valid pilot certificate, was operating an unregistered aircraft at low altitude over a wheat field. According to the pilot's statement, the aircraft encountered a thermal while flying low, and the nose wheel subsequently became entangled in the wheat. This caused the aircraft to nose over and impact the terrain.
