What happened
On June 14, 2013, a Cessna T210N, registration N6993N, was performing a landing at an airstrip in Salmon, Idaho. During the landing rollout on a wet grass runway, the left main landing gear collapsed after the aircraft struck a mud hole. There were no injuries resulting from the incident.
The investigation
The pilot reported that there were no mechanical malfunctions or failures prior to the impact that would have prevented normal operation of the aircraft. The investigation noted that the left elevator and the horizontal stabilizer sustained substantial damage.
